What could be better for a barbecue? What can you enjoy at a party with all kinds of dips? What is a hit at every picnic? Exactly - bread with herb-garlic butter😍 This bread is so easy to make and tastes amazing. Kneaded in 5 minutes, it just needs to rise and be filled to your liking. I like it with a veerrryyy garlicky herb butter. However, as always, there are no limits to creativity. Why not give it a go with my wild garlic hummus or avocado pesto! Or even with cheese, depending on your mood.

Ingredients for one Herb Garlic Butter Bread:

For the dough:
140ml Room temperature milk
21g Yeast
2tbsp Sugar
60g Soft butter
1 Egg
350g Flour

For the filling:
50g Butter
8 Garlic cloves
4tbsp Herbs
Salt, Pepper

Teig rastet

140ml Milk · 21g Yeast · 2tbsp Sugar · 60g Butter · 1 Egg · 350g Flour

Combine milk, yeast, sugar, butter and the egg in a large bowl. Then slowly add the flour and knead for a few minutes until a smooth dough is formed. Then let rise in a warm place for an hour while covered.

Kräuterbutter

8 Garlic cloves · 50g Butter · 2tbsp Herbs · Salt · Pepper

In the meantime, cut or press the garlic very finely. Stir the butter until creamy. Then mix in the garlic and herbs. Add salt and pepper.

Teig ausgerollt

Flour

Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread the filling evenly.

Zopf

Roll up the dough and place on a baking sheet. Then cut twice lengthwise to make three strands of dough for the braid. Then twist into a loose braid. When doing this, "pinch" the braid a little.

Let the braid rise again for 30 minutes. Then bake at 180°C for about 25 minutes.
