Molten Chocolate Cake

Who doesn't know the feeling: it's the afternoon, suddenly you crave something sweet and satisfying, but you don't want to make a big fuss or work in the kitchen for hours. For those moments, my molten chocolate cake is perfect. Quick to make and not as unhealthy as many other chocolate bombs. Sounds good, doesn't it?

Simply sprinkle your finished cake with powdered sugar and you have the perfect chocolate cake for all occasions! You can enjoy the cake still warm from the oven or treat yourself the next day (if you have enough discipline)!
Cutting the cake is almost like a little show, a few Ahhs and Oohs will definitely be heard. I would leave the cake to cool off for some time if you plan to remove it from the mold. Otherwise the core might "fall out" because it's so soft. The next day, the soft center will be like a brownie or fudge - also super delicious. Enjoy!

For a 20cm mold:

200g Dark chocolate
50g Butter
2 Eggs
40g Brown sugar
40g White sugar
200g Flour
6g Baking powder
50g Cocoa powder (unsweetened)
1tsp Cinnamon
150ml Milk
50g Walnuts
Pinch of salt
Powdered sugar for serving

Schoko und Butter

200g Dark chocolate· 50g Butter

Melt the chocolate with the butter over a water bath.

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Eier schlagen

2 Eggs · 40g White sugar · 40g Brown sugar

In the meantime, beat the eggs a little and gradually mix in the sugar.

Zutaten vermischen

200g Flour · 6g Baking powder · Pinch of salt · 1tsp Cinnamon · 50g Cocoa powder · 150ml Milk · 50g Walnuts

Then add flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and cocoa powder. Mix in the milk until a soft batter is formed.

Chop the walnuts and add them to the batter as well.

Schokolade einrühren

Lastly, stir in the molten chocolate.

Teig in Form

Butter · Flour

If necessary, grease the mold and pour in the batter. Make sure that the surface is as smooth as possible.

Bake for about 15 minutes, after about 10-12 minutes test with a wooden stick whether the cake is ready. To get a soft center, no more batter should stick to the edge of the cake, but in the middle circle it should. For a completely baked chocolate cake, the stick must remain "clean" everywhere you test. If the cake is still too soft, just leave it in the oven for a few more minutes.
