Horchata is a Mexican rice drink with condensed milk, cinnamon and vanilla. There are many ways to make horchata, but for me this recipe is the perfect one. Served over ice, this will be a refreshing hit this summer! The preparation requires a little patience, but is not difficult at all. I would recommended adding the sugar slowly at the end so it doesn't become too sweet. A guideline is two tablespoons, but depending on your taste it can be more or less. The drink will keep for a few days in the refrigerator.
Ingredients for 1l Horchata:
100g Rice
1tsp Cinnamon
500ml Boiling water
1 Can of condensed milk (about 500ml)
2tbsp Sugar
Vanilla

100g Rice · 1tsp Cinnamon · 500ml Boiling water
First, mix the rice with cinnamon and add boiling water. When everything has cooled down, put it in the refrigerator and let it sit for several hours or overnight to soak the rice.

Then, using a blender, mix the rice until everything is smooth. Then pour through a fine sieve several times so that no pieces remain.

1 Can of condensed milk · Vanilla · Cinnamon · 2tbsp Sugar
Lastly, stir in the condensed milk and season to taste with vanilla, cinnamon and sugar. Serve chilled and enjoy.
